In case you encounter PDF creating issue in the QwikQuote of your quotation software and invoice software setup
– that mostly come from the following possible cases – then you should review the following possible cases and act accordingly.
If those points cannot help you resolving the issue in your quotation software and invoice software setup, then please try to contact us for GoToMeeting support by sending an email to QwikQuote Tech-Support at support@qwikquote.com.

1.  Install a Real Printer Driver and Set it as Default Printer

First try to make sure your Windows has a printer setup in the computer running your quotation software and invoice software package and set it as the Windows Operating System Default Printer, such as the screenshot demonstrated below:

Note: This is not required to be really a physical printer in your quotation software and invoice software system,
only a Windows printer driver of the popular printer is OK for your quotation software and invoice software.
This is for QwikQuote needs to get the default printer parameters to produce PDF file of the current sales quote
when you try to create PDF file in your quotation software and invoice software setup
by using the Document Type Layout as sales quotes templates.

2.  Re-Run QwikQuote Setup Wizard to Re-Do Configure

The key point here is that QwikQuote setup wizard will remove QQPDF Printer Driver and then re-install QQPDF printer driver
during its configuration process when you run Setup Wizard to re-configure in your quotation software and invoice software.
This will fix a number of issues regarding QwikQuote PDF creation in the quotation software and invoice software.

To re-run the QwikQuote Setup Wizard again:
On XP computers, you can try from Windows Start Menu, similar as screenshot demonstrated below:

Note:  On Vista or Windows 7 computers, only built-in Administrator user has the rights
to set and configure computer hardware – add a new printer (driver).
So, you need to run QwikQuote setup wizard by using ‘Run as Administrator
similar as the screenshot shown below:

Note:  Follow the live help information when you run the QwikQuote setup Wizard
that is on shown at the bottom of the setup wizard window
whenever you move you mouse pointer to any shown object or component on the dialog Window.

3.  Give FULL Control Rights over the Folder Where you Save the PDF File

This is something special only for Windows Vista and Windows 7 computers your quotation software and invoice software runs on them.  To protect critical system folders, Windows uses shadowing or virtual store technology.  To understand what happened on your computer, let try to open the 1st quote we made by the quotation software and invoice software

You can notice that there is a little lock at the quote file icon.
What that means - the quote file is not stored in the actual disk folder, but in the virtual store under the logon user’s name.

Let’s use 2 Windows explorer to show what happened in the computer your quotation software and invoice software runs.
The 1st Windows explorer to show the real QwikQuote main installation folder
and you can notice that the 1st quote file we made by your
quotation software and invoice software is not saved there,
and the 2nd Windows explore to show the quote file in the Virtual Store under logon user name SFan.
and the 1st quote file we made before by the
quotation software and invoice software is actually therein.

If this issue does not resolved, there will be a number of cases you will encounter errors when run your quotation software and invoice software, such as not able to find quote files when saving quote info to ACT and Outlook,

or printer error when trying to create quote PDF file in the sales quotation software and invoice software package,
such as the screenshot shown below:

Or you might encounter the Overflow error when you try to save the quote,
such as the screenshot shown below:
       or
The key point herein is as long as an application trying to access the file at normal file location directly,
then that will fail for the real physical file location is in the Virtual Store.

To resolve this issue, you need to give FULL Control rights to users who will use QwikQuote the sales quotation software and invoice software to the location you are going to save quote and PDF files – in this case, it is the QwikQuote main installation folder
that is normally at
    C:\Program Files\QQ6\
                   for 32 bit Windows computers
C:\Program Files (x86)\QQ6\          for 64 bit Windows computers

The key point for this fix is to let the file stored at its denoted location in the quotation software and invoice software system
– not in the shadowing virtual store under the current logon user’s name.

4.  Check the QQuote6.EXE Running Mode

If you try to run QwikQuote older version in Windows Vista or Windows 7 computers,
it might suggest you to run in compatible mode (run in XP compatible mode).
In some old versions of QwikQuote releases, this might the reasonable approach if you try to run them.
However, with QwikQuote 6.5.004 or later releases, we fully support QwikQuote on Windows 7 computers – all editions.

Note:  QwikQuote needs to run in Normal Mode – does not run in any compatible mode,
and Normal logon user – not under any other user’s credential name, such as the screenshot shown below:

If it is running in either compatible mode or run application program as administrator,
or pass the printer output to another PDF Printer (Driver) to create PDF document in your quotation software system,
you might encounter varies errors such the one below:

The key point here is that if QwikQuote is running in compatible mode or under other user’s credential,
it will have different account control rights and cannot communicate correctly with other 3rd party applications
such as ACT, Outlook, GoldMine, etc.  For example, if you run QwikQuote under built-in Administrator user
then you will not able to use Outlook to send email for Administrator cannot access your Outlook mail boxes.
In this case, you will encounter various issues with your sales quotation software and invoice software package.

5.  Try to Run QwikQuote by Using ‘Run as Administrator’
This is to test if it is a rights issue on the computer if you are running QwikQuote in Windows 7
or computers that have printer driver or device access control implemented
that makes a normal user has no rights to manipulate printer devices.

If ‘Run as Administrator’ works fine, then you knew it is a rights issue
and then you can promote your logon rights to be Administrator rights.

Note:  Give the logon user the Administrator user rights will help running applications smoothly in general on Windows 7 computers.
This will make your quotation software and invoice software and other software running in an environment closer to XP.

6.  Try to Use QwikQuote PDF Print Services
