We recommend that you change the defaults as
soon as possible.
QSM provides multiple security modes (None, Simple, Full, or Easy) that
address different user’s environments and business requirements, and the
switch between modes is only a mouse click.
QSM Overview
QSM will already be familiar to most users because it adopts the
familiar and intuitive style of the security features in Microsoft
Windows and Internet Explorer. The learning curve for QwikQuote Security
Manager is minimal because you can apply your experience accumulated
with the use of Windows Explore and Internet Explore.
Dealers, developers and administrators will also appreciate how easy it
is to implement QSM: simply choose the “QwikQuote Security Manager” from
the QwikQuote 6 program group off your Windows Start button.
QSM is a component in DLL/OCX format that uses ActiveX protocol to
provide a simple module for program languages supporting ActiveX
interfaces. The QwikQuote Security System supports a wide variety of
application environments through multi-running modules, yet preserves
simple and intuitive interfaces for both users and application
developers.
Getting started with QSM
Choose the QwikQuote Security Manager from the QwikQuote program folder.

Choose the "Set Security Mode" from the
Tools menu:

Choose one of the four security modes
appropriate for your organization. Mousing over each mode explains
the relative features in the yellow box below.

Full Security Mode
Full Security Mode offers the ultimate protection for a company's sales
quoting information.
* Apply detailed control over every Control Point or function in
QwikQuote.
* Every user has his or her own rights over important functions in
QwikQuote.
* Groups and “roles” can be used to contruct hierarchical security
structures
Your users' interaction with QwikQuote will change after implementation:
* All users must login to use QwikQuote

Security Manager.
Keep this password information in mind if your switch to Full Security

change your password either in QwikQuote Security Manager or when you
are in the main QwikQuote application after login.
